When I started taking MTX I did feel quite nauseaus for a couple of days after taking the dose. It was suggesting by LynW that I have a go at nibbling on ginger biscuits, such a simple thing but it certainly did the trick. I now only feel tired for a couple of days after.

Try it nothing to lose.

Thank you so much everyone. I saw my gp this morning, and she agrees it seems like the meds. I had another bad day feeling nauseaus yesterday, I had met up with a friend at her house for an afternoon tea with her girls, and felt just awful. I ended up leaving after an hour or so, as I was sweating, feeling faint and very sick. My gp thinks its the mtx as nothing else has changed. The pain meds are the same, so unless they are now giving me problems (tramadol 100mg pregabalin 100mg and paracetemol 500mg all x 4) which I see no reason why. She has prescribed me domperidone to take whenever I feel the need. She thinks the injections may be the answer, but wants to wait to see if taking the folic acid syrup daily will help, its been 3 weeks so far. I explained that its affecting my life, I am having problems caring for the children as when you are feeling sick little children dont really help (sorry boys, nothing personal!) Even today I feel hot, unwell, and havent managed to eat much. She asked me if I have problems swallowing and sometimes I do, but put that down to still not being sure if I have Sjogren's, as the tests still havent all been done yet, this started in December last year and they still havent got me in to see the rheumy or the opthamologist. She advised ginger tea, and of course Lyn's ginger biscuits will help.
We have had some problems with the rioting, so havent been out today, as our local centre has been targetted and Roy wont[ let us go out!! Must get out tomorrow though, need the domperidone etc. Maybe I should call NRAS helpline, as everything seems to be going on forever. I have felt sick now twice this week already, its getting ridiculous, and it lasts so long. Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply, I would be lost without you all x xSmile

Hello Barbara

Just to say glad you go to see your Doctor today. I know how you are feeling the feeling of being sick, muzzy, flu like, + +
is just awful. I have similar as started Humira 8th June and the injection actually is making me worse, now the RA x 2 nurses
are on holiday = thats great organising isn't ?
i was diagnosed 2008 and really thought Humira would be the magic I longed for. I know how down you must be
feeling.

You take care in London I soo feel for you that in itself will be causing you anxiety.

RA is a miserable disease and I am so sorry that you are feeling so unwell. I hope that the domperidone helps with the sickness. There is nothing worse.

I am also thinking about you living in London. Terrible situation.

Take care

Just had another thought ... sipping (not gulping Scared ) ginger beer! Not everyone can stomach it but a doctor once told me that dodgy stomachs can often be settled by the fizz in drinks ... not sure why, perhaps the bubbles? but I reckon coupled with the ginger it could be a winner!

Do take care in London Barbara my thoughts are with you. My daughter had a meeting in Manchester tonight. Got almost there on the train when she received an email saying the police were advising people not to go into the city. Caught the next train back again. Scary times.
